Pu La Deshpande<\/strong>: (8 November 1919 \u2013 12 June 2000), popularly known by his initials (“Pu. La.<\/strong>“) or as P. L. Deshpande<\/strong>, was a Marathi writer and humorist from Maharashtra. He was also an accomplished film and stage actor, script writer, author, composer, musician, singer and orator. He was often referred to as “Maharashtra’s beloved personality”. Deshpande’s works have been translated into several languages including English and Kannada. Purushottam Laxman Deshpande was born in Gamdevi Street, Chowpati, Mumbai in a Gaud Saraswat Brahmin family to Laxman Trimbak Deshpande and Laxmibai Laxman Deshpande. An Inauguration of this competition was done by the hands of Sunita Deshpande<\/strong> spouse of Pu La Deshpande (Thakur<\/strong>; 3 July 1926 \u2013 7 November 2009) was an Indian writer. She was fondly called “Sunitabai” <\/sup><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Maharashtra has rich tradition of renowned Literary in play-writing as like lyrics and singing. SKVSP has organised One Act Play competition in the name of Hon. P. L. Deshpande who is Great literary, popular and most liked and dearest personality among the people due to his honor as “Pu La Deshpande One Act Play Competition Grand Trophy” successfully for three consecutive years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same way, due to respect to most popular and respected leader Hon. Yashwantrao Chavan, Ex Defence Minister of India with his name “Yashwantrao Chavan One-Act Play Competition Grand Trophy” has organized. He has aware and knowledge about literature even though being a leader in politics. And he has respect and appreciation towards writer, poet, play writer and Artist always. On the occasion 75th<\/sup> Golden Jubilee celebration of foundation day of Maharashtra “Maharashtra’s sculptor Yashwantra Chawan One Act Play Competition Grand Trophy” was held in the memory due Hon. Yashwantrao Chavan. It was state level competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main purpose of “Pu La Deshpande Grand Trophy” and “Maharashtra’s sculptor Yashwantra Chawan Grand Trophy” was to promote and gave space to idea’s of amateurs from all sections of Maharashtra. New young writers should come forward to present their ideas and they should get opportunity in the field of art. Young actors and actresses should get opportunity in the field of drama and film also.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
