Music is one of medium that feels or touches everyone’s mind and give happiness. Music always attracts every one to words it also. For sure the effect of music is always different. There are a lot of fan’s of filmy and traditional music throughout the Maharashtra. There are so many famous poet, musicians who gave their share for prosperity of Marathi Filmy Music. Mr. Ram Kadam is one of them, who always remain top when we to recall.

Ram Kadam (28 August 1918 – 19 February 1997) was a noted Indian lavani composer and film score composer, who worked in Marathi cinema, during the 1940s to the 1990s, composing for nearly 200 films. He is most known for composing Lavani songs, a folk form of Maharashtra and popular Lavani-based songs of hit film, Pinjara (1972), directed by V. Shantaram. He also composed music of plays.

In 2006, SKVPS has started a Award ‘Ram Kadam Kala Gaurav Purskar’ in the name of Late Ram Kadam being a magician of Marathi Filmy Songs and Musician of lavani music at his honour.

1st Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2006: Hon. Shri. Jagdishji Khebudkar, famous litterateur and lyricist. He was a Marathi littérateur and lyricist of marathi cinema known for his songs in films like Pinjra (1972), Sadhi Manse, Samna (1975), Chandra Hota Sakshila and Ashtavinayak. He was felicitated by ‘1st Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2006′ for their valuable contribution in the field of Music and Marathi Film Industry.  


2nd Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2007: Hon Shri Bhaskar Chandavarkar (16 March 1936 – 26 July 2009) was an Indian sitar player, academic and film and theatre composer, who worked with well-known directors of Indian cinema like Mrinal Sen, Girish Karnad, Aparna Sen, K.G. George and Amol Palekar in various indian languages, was known for his blending of Indian classical and western music. He has been felicitated by ‘2nd Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2007′.


3rd Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2008: A much loved and well-respected figure in the Bombay film-industry (i.e. ‘Bollywood’) for almost six decades, Hon.Enoch Daniels (fondly known as ‘Danny’) is known for his work as a film arranger/composer, and for his instrumental albums of rendition of film tunes on the piano-accordion. He was raised in a musical family, with religious and church music playing an important role in his early years. Enoch Daniels was felicitated by ‘3rd Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2008′.


4th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2009: Hon. Sulochanabai Kadam, known as Sulochana Chavan is an Indian singer, known for her lavanis in Marathi. Amongst various others, her famous lavanis include “Tuzhya Usala Laagal Kolha”, “Padarawarti Jartaricha” both from film ‘Malhari Martand’ (1965), “Solaawa Varees Dhokyacha”, “Kasa Kay Patil Bara Hay Ka?” both from film ‘Sawaal Majha Aikal’ (1964). Her Hindi famous songs include “Chori Chori Aag Si Dil Mein lagake”, “Ulfat jisay kehtay hai. jeenay ka sahaara hai”, “Mousam aayaa hai rangeen”, “woh aaye hain dil ko karar aa gaya hai”. Sulochanabai Kadam was felicitated by ‘4th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2008′.


5th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2010: Hon. Chandrashekhar Gadgil is an Indian famous playback singer of the Marathi as well as Hindi Cinema. He has sung a lot of songs for R. D. Burman. He has written a famous book ‘Shaapit Gandharva’. He started his career as a orchestra singer and then became playback singer. famous playback singer was felicitated by ‘5th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2010′.


6th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2011: Hon Ajay–Atul pair are an Indian music composer duo comprising brothers Ajay Gogavale and Atul Gogavale. They won the Best Music Direction award at the 56th National Films Awards from the Government of India for contributing music to the Marathi film Jogwa in 2008. The pair made their debut on the 2015 Forbes India Celebrity 100 List securing a position of 82nd and at position 22nd in 2019. They have composed music for many hit Hindi films. Musician Ajay-Atul were felicitated by ‘6th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2011′ for their valuable contribution to music industry.


7th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2012: Hon Usha Mangeshkar (born 15 December 1935) is an Indian singer who has recorded many Marathi, Manipuri, Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Nepali, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, and Assamese songs. she is one of the famous singer in India. Usha Mangeshkar was felicitated by ‘7th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2012′ for her valuable contribution in the field of Music and Marathi Film Industry as well as Indian film industry.


8th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2013: Hon. Ashok Patki (born 25 August 1941) is an Indian music director and composer; working predominantly in Marathi cinema, theatre and television. He is best known for his very popular compositions like “Mile Sur Mera Tumhara”, “Purab Se Surya Uga”. Patki has also composed over 5000 jingles and has been awarded with ‘Indian National Film Award for Best Music Direction’ at 54th National Film Awards in 2006 for a Konkani film, Antarnaad. and Many more…


9th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2014: Hon. Suresh Ishwar Wadkar (born 7 August 1955) is an Indian playback singer. He performs in both Hindi and Marathi films. He has sung songs in some Bhojpuri films, Odia albums and bhajans and in Konkani films.He was awarded the ‘Sangeet Natak Akademi Award’ for 2018 for Sugam Sangeet. In 2020, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri Award. Usha Mangeshkar was felicitated by ‘9th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2014′ for his valuable contribution in the field of Music and film industry.


10th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2015: Yashwant Dev (1 November 1926 – 30 October 2018) was a Marathi poet and composer from Mumbai, India. He has contributed with singing as scores for many Marathi and Hindi songs. Dev was taught music by his father and made his public debut at AIR as a sitar player. He worked for Akashwani’s Nagpur station in 1960s. He gained wide recognition once he launched the TV program Bhavsaragam, which helped make him popular across the state. Yashwant Dev had contributed music for over 40 plays in marathi music industry. Yashwant Deo was felicitated by ’10th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2 015′


11th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2016: Hon Arun Date (4 May 1934 – 6 May 2018) was a well known Marathi singer of Bhavgeet. Originally a textile engineer from VJTI, Mumbai, He left his high-profile job after 28 years of service for pursuing a career in singing. His song “Shukratara” was adjudged as song of the month by Mumbai Radio Station in 1962. Arun was first recipient of Gajananrao Vatave Puraskar. Arun Date was felicitated by ’11th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2016′


12th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2017: Hon. Anuradha Paudwal (born 27 October 1954) is an Indian playback singer who works predominantly in Hindi Film industry. She is one of the most prominent Bhajan singer. and also as one of the most successful playback singers. The recipient of several accolades including a National Film Award, four Film Fare Awards (winning consecutively during 1990–92) and two Odisha state Film Award, she has been honoured by the Govt of India with the Padma Shri, the country’s fourth-highest civilian honour for her contribution in the field of art. Hon. Anuradha Paudwal is awarded by 12th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2017.


13th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2018: (i) Padma Shri Shankar Mahadevan: Shankar Mahadevan (born 3 March 1967) is an Indian singer and composer who is part of the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio that writes music for Indian films. Shankar Mahadevan was born in Chembur into a Tamil language speaking family from Palakkad, Kerala. He learned Hindustani classical and Carnatic music as a child, and began playing the veena at the age of five under Shree Lalitha Venkataraman. Mahadevan studied music under Pandit Shrinivas Khale and T.R. Balamani. (ii) Rahul Deshpande: He is an Indian classical music singer. He is the recipient of the 68th National award of the best playback singer for Mee Vasantrao. He is the grandson of Vasantrao Deshpande. Rahul developed his interest in vocal music by studying the music of Kumar Gandharva. Initially, he sought guidance of Pandit Gangadharbuva Pimpalkhare and Dr. Madhusudhan Patwardhan. He further learnt under the tutelage of Smt. Ushatai Chipalkatti and Pandit Mukul Shivputra. He also learned the tabla from Suresh Samant. His repertoire includes khayal, tap khayal, dhruvpad, thumri, kajri, hori, tappa, ghazal, abhanga, bhajan, natyasangeet and bhavgeet. Hon. Padma Shri Shankar Mahadevan & Hon. Rahul Deshpande were awarded by 13th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2018.


14th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2023: (i) Padma Shri Anup Jalota: Anup Jalota, (born 29 July 1953) is an Indian singer, musician and actor, best known for his contributions to the Bhajan genre of Indian Music. Hon. Padma Shri Anupji Jalota has been awarded by 14th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2023. (ii) Javed Ali: Javed Ali is an Indian playback singer who predominantly sings in Hindi. He has also sung in various Indian languages including Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu etc. He sungs Qawwali, Pop, Bollywood, Devotional and Indian songs. Most of are famous songs. Hon. Javedji Ali has been awarded by 14th Ram Kadam Art Glory Award 2023.
